The appropriation of the technologies by the humanities has led to discussions for the development of an emerging field called Digital Humanities. In this context, the Casa de Rui Barbosa Foundation, through the Centro de Memória e Informação, disseminates its memorial and&#13;
institutional collection through the use of technologies. This article aims to verify how the Foundation implements the concept of Digital Humanities. For this, a bibliographical research was carried out in order to define and characterize the field of Digital Humanities. It is a case study that&#13;
verified the products offered by the Foundation for the dissemination of content using technologies. It is noticed that the initiatives of institutions of memory and research linked to the Digital Humanities, such as the Foundation, are important for the consolidation of this new field, as it&#13;
promotes access, preservation, creation of new knowledge and technological innovation. The Digital Humanities Laboratory of the Centro de Memória e Informação has been developing research and actions aimed at implementing a digital culture among researchers of the institution in the fields related to social sciences, applied social sciences and human sciences, enabling the application and expansion of the Meaning of Digital Humanities for society. In this way, the Foundation intends to raise discussions and contribute to the construction of a concept in Digital Humanities.

<description>O livro digital como forma de democratização do acesso ao conhecimento e a cultura
Medeiros, Ana Ligia Silva; Dourado, Stella Moreira
Access to culture and cultural goods of every citizen is entitled, but not everyone has access. The information technologies and the internet generate several options for expanding access to culture for individuals, generating a new culture - the digital. In this study, we sought to analyze the contributions of information technologies and the Internet to increase access to culture, using a digital book available for free, as a means of democratizing access to knowledge. To do so, we performed a bibliographic and documentary research on culture and the transformations promoted by information technologies and the Internet, causing the emergence of digital culture and how this new culture favors the democratization of access to knowledge for society. A survey of initiatives to publish free digital books that allow for greater democratization of access to knowledge and culture was also performed. It was noted that with the digital culture, citizens can participate in a wide and collaborative networks in the online form, expressing culturally and from viewers for cultural actors.

Jurgen Habermas. Este autor é não apenas um dos maiores pensadores vivos, mas um grande humanista que intervém na história do seu tempo como mostram seus artigos recentes sobre a crise dos imigrantes na Europa. &#13;
