Abstract:
The present work deals with preservation of modern architecture in the context of the discussions that have been developed in last years about the theme, which includes technical issues and the theoretical and methodological approach of the interventions with the aim of to introduce the question of preservation of modern architecture in Brazil in the framework of the discussions in the international scene. The way that was chosen for the development of the work was the analysis for the preservation of a group of modern office buildings, built in Rio de Janeiro, in the period of 1930-1960. An inventory was made, and the values for preservation were defined.
