Muitos heróis e poucas heroínas? A presença da mulher no acervo de pinturas da exposição de longa duração do Museu Histórico Nacional

Abstract

Invisibilidade e representatividade são duas categorias fundamentais na discussão sobre o papel da mulher na sociedade e sobre a construção do feminino. Neste sentido, buscamos nesta pesquisa identificar a representação das mulheres no acervo da exposição de longa duração do Museu Histórico Nacional, considerando os aspectos expográficos, museológicos e sociais. Esta análise, teve como metodologia a pesquisa qualitativa, bibliográfica e documental e será fundamentada em fontes produzidas na instituição, foco deste estudo, tais como os Anais do Museu Histórico Nacional, as Políticas de aquisição de acervos, os dossiês de entrada de acervos, atas de reunião, fichas técnicas, legendas, referências bibliográficas, pesquisas biográficas e entrevistas. Pretende-se entender o processo de musealização do acervo relativo às mulheres, ou seja, analisar o percurso feito desde a entrada do acervo relacionado até sua seleção para integrar a exposição de longa duração. A questão central deste estudo está em discutir qual o lugar que as mulheres ocupam neste circuito expositivo. Duas obras foram selecionadas como foco da pesquisa: as pinturas, retratos, da Marquesa de Santos de autoria atribuída a Francisco Pedro do Amaral e da Anita Garibaldi de autoria de Joaquim da Rocha Ferreira. Para entender o período da exposição dessas obras em 2018, foi feita uma entrevista com o ex- diretor, o historiador Paulo Knauss. As trajetórias da Marquesa de Santos e de Anita Garibaldi nos permitem ampliar o debate sobre a invisibilidade e a representatividade feminina. Buscando praticar o exercício da escuta e envolver outras pessoas que lidam diretamente com a exposição, em diferentes âmbitos, utilizaremos o recurso da entrevista com aplicação de questionário a um pequeno grupo formado por ex-funcionárias para entender o que sentem em relação à representatividade das mulheres no museu. O produto apresentado é um roteiro de visitação mediada com a intenção de aproximar o público visitante da exposição de longa duração e do protagonismo das mulheres retratadas.

Invisibility and representation are two fundamental categories in the discussion about the role of women in society and the construction of femininity. In this sense, we seek in this research to identify the representation of women in the collection of the long-term exhibition of the National Historical Museum, considering the expographic aspects, museological and social. This analysis used qualitative, bibliographic and documentary research as methodology and will be based on sources produced in the institution, the focus of this study, such as the Annals of the National Historical Museum, the Policies of collection acquisition, the collection intake dossiers, meeting minutes, technical records, captions, bibliographic references, biographical research, and interviews. The aim is to understand the process of musealization the collection related to women, that is, to analyze the path taken from the entry of the related collection until its selection to join the long-term exhibition. The central question of this study is to discuss the place that women occupy in this exhibition circuit. Two works were selected as the focus of the research: the paintings of the Marquesa de Santos by authorship attributed to Francisco Pedro do Amaral and Anita Garibaldi by Joaquim da Rocha Ferreira. To understand the period of return of these works, in 2018, an interview was conducted with the former director, the historian Paulo Knauss. The trajectories of the Marquesa de Santos and Anita Garibaldi allow us to broaden the debate about feminine invisibility and representation. Seeking to practice the exercise of listening and involving other people who deal directly with the exhibition, in different areas, we will use the resource of an interview with a small group of former employees to understand what they feel about the representation of women in the museum. The product presented is a guided visitation script with the intention of bringing the visiting public closer to the long-term exhibition and the protagonism of the portrayed women.
