Abstract:
This paper presents the trajectory of the textiles from the Rui Barbosa’s Hometo House Museum and demonstrates how its wear and tear is proportional to the information loss associated to textiles. Frame also points out that if museographic renewal is a positive action to improve the visitor experience, presents ethical and practical challenges regarding to authenticity of the artefacts and its material nature, mainly due to the impact of the technological transformations on physic and aesthetic aspects of the textiles.
