Resumo:
This dissertation brought Rádio Brisa that works in Rocinha, one of the largest slums in
Latin America, as an object of study, the objective was to contribute to the elucidation of new
community strands, the root of the alternative and community concept and how are the active
scenarios Brisa radios with residents, in historical importance, with new technologies, the importance of also being a pole radio, what is the social and political posture and what legislative
issues encompass a radio under the concept of “community” or not. We worked with a qualitative questionnaire, semi-structured interviews and bibliographic and academic research. Rocinha's cultural expressions and communicational representations also stand out, from theater
projectsto the social media pagesthat represent it today. Concluding with a product, the Manual
for Radios Made in Communities, which will allow free access to those who intend to understand the concept of “community” and work in local radio with greater clarification about the
new languages of the internet, social networks and the current legislation.
