Abstract:
Beginning in 1972, actions to promote culture were carried out as part of a strategy meant to popularize the collection of then the newly established Archive-Museum of Brazilian Literature of the House of Rui Barbosa Foundation (AMLB/FCRB). This paper aims to perform a preliminary survey of these activities and products. Considerations on the impact of this survey will be outlined. The study was based on information drawn from data supplied by exhibition catalogues, bibliographic sources concerning the history of this institution, and data found in the administrative procedures of its Institutional Archive. With this work, we seek to present a
sample of the dimension and impact of these actions, which were undertaken with the purpose of providing the general public with a glimpse of the collection of Brazilian Literature heritage that is under the protection of the Archive-Museum.
